Am I a Good Candidate for UltraClear Laser Treatment?
Good candidates are healthy adults with realistic goals who want better skin quality and can commit to strict sun protection while healing. Because UltraClear scales, it works for a prevention-minded patient in her thirties and for a patient with years of sun damage.
Deeper skin tones face less risk with this device than with older lasers. UltraClear targets water in the skin rather than pigment, which lowers the risk of dark or light spots after treatment, based on research on skin of color. Safety still depends on the right settings, not just the device.
Some patients should wait or choose a different treatment. Active infection or inflamed acne in the area, recent use of the acne medication isotretinoin, a history of raised keloid scars, pregnancy, and an inability to avoid sun exposure during healing all call for a different plan.
That assessment happens at your consultation. Tamara reviews your skin history, medications, prior treatments, and healing tendencies, then recommends a depth and a session count. If UltraClear is not the right fit, she will say so.
